The year 2020 is finally over and I’m glad. Not just because of the pandemic, which has all of us learning to live differently, but because my husband died last January. I had no idea the grieving process would be so intense, so life consuming and so difficult. But…I am feeling part of the human

Three Custom Quilts Challenge My Abilities
I am fairly firm about always making custom quilts that are one of my designs, larger or smaller or different colors. However, I had a request last year to create a landscape, which was one of my designs, and two quilts of cats. I was quite uncertain of my cat design abilities!! I’m not a

Red and Green but not Christmas!!
A dear friend asked me to make a custom curved pieced quilt for her to match her decor. She wanted reds and greens. While the color wheel says red and green are complimentary, I had to confess to her that I couldn’t think of red and green without thinking of Christmas. So….time to expand my

Many custom quilts keeping me busy

He experienced many health problems in 2019 which resulted in my closing down my sewing studio since last August. Finally, in early February, a few weeks after his death, I re-entered my studio and began

Custom Quilts Keeping Me Busy
I want to share some of the custom quilt orders which have kept me busy these last couple of months. First, in late spring I made a custom quilt of browns, oranges, and yellows in an abstract mosaic. This quilt was 24″wide and 40″high. Mosaic quilts are truly designed 100% on my flannel design wall.

A Purple Sunset
A few months ago I was itching to play with purples, blues and pinks. I’m not sure how to explain the lure of certain colors, but there are few things that calm my soul and give me a moment away from the chaos of daily life than playing with my fabric samples. I especially like
