Blue Ridge Mtns Art Quilts

Posted January 23, 2026 by sharon

The Blue Ridge mountains with many options for beautiful skies have intrigued me for years.  I receive a custom order to a larger wall quilt this winter and dove in with enthusiasm that involved some frequent shopping until I found all the right blues for a gradation of mountain shades from light to darker in

Some new quilts

Posted December 17, 2025 by sharon

Somehow this fall got away from me. My volunteer work with our local library where I’m president of the board and chairman of our major auction fundraiser (held end of Sept) seemed to keep me from sewing.  Then I’ve had some strange inflammation in some major joints which doctors are still mystified by but I’m

Birch Trees 23 with new techniques

Posted August 27, 2025 by sharon

After my very successful show at our local public library gallery, I am looking at my Etsy shop without any tree quilts.  Trees continue to be very popular so my focus for the next few weeks will be some new tree quilts. Birch trees 23 in Autumn gave me a chance to try some new

Library Show a HUGE Success!

Posted July 31, 2025 by sharon

About every 3 years my turn cycles around and I am able to display my art quilts in the Gallery of the Public Library for Union County in Lewisburg.  July 2025 was my month.  This morning I took down the show and received another quilt order bringing the sales and orders to 8 for this

Abstract RUST Curves with Yellow and Maroon

Posted July 20, 2025 by sharon

The other day I finally returned to a fabric shop in Pine Grove Mills, PA for shopping her unique and fun quilt fabrics.  I went to look and buy a little but of course left the store with LOTS OF FABRIC!!  I also bought a new cutting pad from a company she swears by which

Trees 56 with wild flowers in the woods

Posted June 22, 2025 by sharon

I have not made this design of an art quilt for a few years.  This art quilt has about twelve shuffled blocks each with about 8 pieces which I used for the varied greens and pale blues for the sky/leaves top 2/3 of the background.    I used curved piecing for the lower third with

Another art quilt of a Raven

Posted June 8, 2025 by sharon

A quilting friend introduced me to creating Raven quilts.  For me, this is a combination quilt as it involves some traditional piecing, of the background, with some raw edge applique for the bird itself.  I studied Raven paintings and saw a lot of Ravens with moons.  But, truth be told, Raven’s are not nocturnal so

Kittens and quilts don’t mix

Posted May 25, 2025 by sharon

I accepted a new kitten into my house the weekend before Thanksgiving 2024.  Her name is Poppy but it ought to be “destructo cat”!  She is about 9 months old and heading to be a short small cat but she has phenomenal jumping capabilities.  She spends a good bit of her time in my second

Farmland as a patchwork art quilt

Posted May 4, 2025 by sharon

As a resident of central Pennsylvania, I have spent most of my life enjoying the beautiful patchwork of the farm fields all over the state.  I have saved paintings and photographs of these patchwork landscapes, vowing to one day try to make an art quilt.  That day arrived in the last two weeks! I consider

  • My passion is creating contemporary wall quilts where fabrics compliment and contrast, where designs are wonky and unusual, and where the piecing lines often aren’t straight. I’m exploring the non-traditional through modern designs and contemporary landscapes. Quilts vary in size from 12” x 12” to 40” x 60”. Custom requests are welcome.
