Holiday Open House Great Success!

IMG_0744     Saturday, December 3rd I participated in the first annual Holiday Open House Art and Craft show/sale at the The Cellars in Lewisburg, PA.  What wonderful crowds we had!  There was a nice variety of artists with something for everyone.  People were walking around with multiple packages!!  I had awesome sales and several inquiries about custom quilts.  This was a nice way to end this year’s show schedule.  For those of you who missed it, mark your calendars for next year…December 2nd, 2017, 10am – 4pm.

As I look to 2017 I’m taking a break from arts festivals except for the Lewisburg Arts Festival on April 22, 2017, the Lewisburg Stroll Through the Arts in early November, and the Holiday indoor show in December.  My sales from ETSY and local sales along with Custom/Commission orders are plenty to keep me busy and inspired.  I have one of the best canopies on the market made by Trimline but it is also one of the heaviest (something which makes it one of the best!). img_0354 My 70 year old husband and myself want to see if my art quilt sales will be sufficient without the festival circuit and the packing/unpacking, schlepping of quilts, road trips and long days, and hotels/rentals that travel and festivals involves.  I’m also exploring new venues for monthly art quilt displays in libraries, restaurants/pubs, and galleries to expand exposure within our central Pennsylvania community to my art quilts.  This retirement hobby, now a business, has been more fun than I ever imagined but it needs to stay manageable, hence a few new plans for 2017.

     Happy quilting!!
