Sunrise and Sunset new art quilts

Here are two small art quilts where the curved designs are the notable qualities along with dynamic colors and unique free motion stitching.

First is Sunrise 26 with a pale pink swath along the horizon presented over the ocean with a sandy beach in the foreground.  My quilt stitching brings out the movement and texture of an ocean sunrise scene.

Second is Sunset 88 with more vibrant pinks in the sky as the sun sinks on the horizon of a lake.  The foreground depicts green scenery, darkening as the light begins to fade.  As with my previous post of two beach quilts, the free motion quilting is dynamic and varied, giving each quilt texture and character.

There might not be as many fabric pieces in each of these small art quilts, but the fabrics selected are especially meant to convey a special time of day.

  1. Like the different suns. One has rays and the other looks pillowy! The quilting comes through well in these pieces.
