A quilter friend of mine made a beautiful Raven art quilt which I offered to buy. She, of course, suggested I try my own hand at making such a quilt. This is my first effort but I had so much fun it will not be my last.
I created the background for this quilt including the branch the bird sits on through traditional piecing. The sun and sky was created with four quadrants and then sewn together to create the sky. I then used rough edge applique to add the raven which was in a few pieces since I was doing one of my “create as you go” projects. I used light grey blue thread for the quilt stitching on the Raven so it would show up but not be too dominant.
I’m quite happy with the final quilt.
