I am not accepting many custom orders, mostly due to being busy serving on a local library board of trustees. It has been 14 years since I left my professional career as an executive director of a large private non profit agency. Joining the library board has given me an avenue to use my management skills again and I’m finding that I like it and enjoy it!
The custom order I received was for a larger ocean colors quilt, 3′ x 4′. I absolutely LOVE making this design with the combination of blues and blue greens and the curved piecing. Some custom requests are greeted with a resounding “YES!” and this was one of them.
Planning for this custom quilt also gave me permission to order some new fabric, which I do not need but I wanted. Now I have a variety of lovely blues in my stash and I can’t wait to use them in new quilts.
The Ocean Colors Custom quilt turned out beautiful!! Once I get started with creating, I’m heading more often to my sewing studio to work on more quilts. Unfortunately, right now Pennsylvania is in the grip of very hot weather. My sewing studio is at the end of my house’s air conditioner run so a lot warmer than the rest of the house. I think next week will see a return to sewing. Now I’m thinking about new designs to start creating once the heat breaks.
