A Different Approach to a Sunset Quilt

I have made 85 Sunset art quilts since 2012 when I opened my Etsy shop.  They are all one of a kind but I tend towards colorful sunsets, marveling at how different each sunset can be.  I have a ready source our my western picture windows.

Sunset 86 is a very different design of a sunset.  It has hills, valleys and mountains. It has a dark sky but not other colors besides a bright sun, sliding below the horizon with a slightly lighter sky around it.  It is an abstract interpretation of a sunset far off on the horizonal filled with varied landscape in the front.

This is a landscape with fewer pieces, about 19.  It is quilt with wild and crazy quilt stitching adding texture and depth to the design.  It was fun to create and includes a different variety of colors and patterns than I often use for this kind of a design.

It is a quilt 100% composed of curved piecing, including the sun which is always a challenge with that much of a circle cut.

It is fun to step out of my comfort zone and do something different!
